Welcome
Welcome to the Certified Medication Technician Manual homepage.
The 2008 Certified Medication Technician: Student Manual was developed as a Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education grant funded project for 2005/2006, with further development
in 2008 to provide the most current information possible. However, before the manual can be used
in the classroom and students receive certification from the Department of Health and Senior
Services, a regulatory change must be made. The review period for the new DHSS regulation has
expired and promulgation is expected the Fall of 2008. Once the regulation becomes official,
instructors will be notified the 2008 CMT manual is the official state approved manual for
classroom use. Until that time, CMT instructors may elect to use the manual as a reference to
help prepare for future classes.
Additionally, a DHSS approved test bank and secure online delivery system was developed as
supporting materials for the CMT course. The test-bank and manual were piloted in 2006,
amended based on the pilot findings, and updated in 2008. Usage of this test bank will also
be required for students to receive CMT certification. An Instructor's packet accompanies the
2008 CMT manual and will be available through the secure online delivery system once the new
DHSS regulation is finalized and the materials are released for classroom use. For additional
information, please contact Donald Scott at the Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE)
with your comments or questions.
This manual is provided online in PDF format as the primary means for distribution. For those who may have difficulty printing the entire document, an order form is available for print materials including the CMT Student Manual. Please note that the instructors manual is only available for download through the test bank site.
