Change is a long-term process, not a one-time event.

MCCE is committed to providing professional development opportunities linked to a comprehensive change process that focuses on student learning. Additionally, professional development opportunities will help participants develop a theoretical as well as practical understanding of new practices. And most importantly, MCCE strongly encourages systematic follow-up and related support services because research indicates that adults are able to achieve extremely high levels of implementation when support is provided after initial training.

Setting priorities is necessary to produce
an effective response to competing needs.

The major investment of time, energy, and other resources that go along with professional development activities require program and workshop content to be closely matched with student and teacher needs. MCCE utilizes the best available research and practice in teaching, learning, and leadership to align the professional development activities with district, school, and individual expectations for student results.
