Expanding Level Workshop: Designing CL Experiences

What happens when the idea of contextual learning meets the reality of the classroom? With expert training and appropriate resources, the teacher becomes the designer and facilitator of learning and makes a commitment to connect knowing with doing. Once students see the real-world relevance of what they are working on, they become more interested and motivated. An innovative CL activity will help students learn and remember difficult material. But the key to successful contextual learning is the essential training and planning in contextual teaching.

The overall goal of this workshop is to assist classroom instructors in developing, locating, and adapting CL classroom activities and experiences. Participants will design and peer-test project-based and problem-based real-world experiences and experiment with various options as to how to present lessons.
