Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approval must be obtained for districts to offer this 3-credit program. Instructors must participate in a 2 1/2 day training session before offering the program. Career Pathways for the Teaching Profession was developed as a synthesis of initiatives impacting career and technical education curriculum in a way that can be used for multiple purposes, including Programs of Study. Factors influencing the development of the competence packets include Programs of Study; Career Clusters; technical skill attainment; end of course assessments; and alignment with local, state and national standards. For additional questions, contact Christine Hollingsworth, Education and Training Cluster Leader at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at Christine.Hollingsworth@dese.mo.gov or 573-522-6543.
