New Teacher Institute
New Teacher Institute provides new educators a “jump start” into classroom teaching via an inclusive seven-day event that wraps around the MoACTE Summer Conference and incorporates NTI instruction into MoACTE sessions. Participants are enrolled in the NTI/Foundations of Education course (CTE 4140) through the University of Central Missouri, and can earn 3 credit hours toward their Career Education Temporary Authorization Certificate (TAC) or Career License to Teach Secondary or Adult students.
NTI participants receive:
- High-quality instruction that focuses on classroom management, curriculum/lesson development, instructional strategies, assessment, career-technical student organizations, and the teaching profession
- Registration to the MoACTE Summer Conference
- Membership in their MoACTE division professional organization
- Lodging at the University Plaza Hotel for the duration of NTI (double occupancy)
- Meals, to include daily breakfast at the hotel, three lunches, and three dinners served at NTI
- Opportunity to network and make new contacts with colleagues
